From now through Sunday, July 11, 2010, all cats and kittens at the Pennsylvania SPCA’s two Philadelphia shelters will be available for an adoption fee of just $1. The Pennsylvania SPCA is holding this Cat and Kitten Super Adopt-a-thon in an effort to find homes for the thousands of homeless cats and kittens that have overrun its shelters.

Mila came into the shelter as a stray on April 4, 2010. She was a sad sight, covered in tar and mud, and was immediately a staff favorite because of her amazing spirit and willingness to give us love, even though she clearly hadn't had anyone to care for her for quite some time. This 2-3 year old pit bull terrier mix is currently the longest resident of the cities high volume open admissions shelter and her time is running out. Mila is great with children, but can be selective about her k-9 friends. Because of this, we want Mila to be the only pet in the home so that she can get all the love and attention she deserves.
